NBSC APPLAUDS THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) recognized the accomplishments of its faculty, staff, and student achievers during the Monday Convocation held at the NBSC Covered Court on June 15, 2026.
Among those recognized were recipients of the On-the-Spot (OTS) Awards, including Ms. Mary Ann Charmaine O. Tapulayan-Dumana of the Institute for Teacher Education (ITE) and Mr. Ariel S. Torayno of the Accounting Office.
Ms. Tapulayan-Dumana received the recognition after being conferred the Best Paper Award for her study, “Decolonizing My Voice: A Living Theory Study of Translanguaging and Linguistic Inclusion in Philippine Higher Education,” which she presented during Parallel Session 3 of the 7th International Teacher Education Research Conference (TERC7) held at Xavier University, Ateneo de Cagayan from May 28 to 30, 2026.
Mr. Torayno was likewise recognized for winning the Model of the Year International 2026 title, earning the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the international competition in Sri Lanka in October 2026.
The Office of the College President (OCP) also honored seven students for their achievements in national and international competitions:
• Ms. Katrina Zyza D. Ducala, Champion in the Storytelling Competition Grand Finals of the Esa Unggul International Event;
• Mr. Justine Franco D. Aparilla, 1st Runner-Up in the Storytelling Competition Grand Finals of the same event;
• Mr. Frans Julius C. Causon, 4th Runner-Up in the Public Speaking Competition Grand Finals;
• Ms. April Rose B. Cabang, who finished among the Top 12 finalists in Public Speaking;
• Ms. Cyra Joyce B. Tudtud, a Top 18 finalist in the Storytelling Competition preliminaries;
• Mr. Ram H. Lantong, who placed among the Top 16 participants in the Public Speaking Competition preliminaries; and
• Ms. Ellen Grace A. Pareño, who represented the region in the Songwriting Competition of the 12th Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) National Culture and the Arts Festival 2026 and placed seventh among 16 competing regions nationwide.
The achievements recognized during the convocation highlight the excellence, talent, and dedication of members of the NBSC community. Through their accomplishments in academic, cultural, and professional endeavors, they continue to bring honor to the institution and strengthen NBSC’s growing reputation at the regional, national, and international levels.
